Mr. Rijal graduated in Commerce from Tribhuvan University, Nepal in 1995 also holds a Master’s Degree in Business Studies from Tribhuvan University. He holds Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Management from IGNOU, India. He is a Fellow member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal (ICAN) and The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). He holds CPA membership from National Board of Accountants and Auditors of Tanzania (NBAA). He is also a Certified Business Valuer from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

Mr. Rijal has several years’ strong managerial experience in Banking, Telecommunications, Investment and IT industry. In his prior positions, he served as Country Manager of one of the leading GSM mobile telecom operator in Tanzania, CFO of Singapore based Investment Company, DCFO of a leading GSM mobile telecom operator in Nepal and Branch Manager of a Class A Commercial Bank of Nepal. Over the years, he has also provided financial & management consultancy services on FDI management, Due Diligence, M&A and Business Valuations in more than 20 countries around the globe.

Mr. Rijal is the past Council Member (2006-2009 and 2015-2018) of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal (ICAN). In past, he also served ICAN as Chairman of Information Technology Committee and member of various committees such as Disciplinary Committee, Examination Committee, Education Committee and Audit Committee from time to time. Currently he is serving the institute as the member of the International Affairs Committee. He served The Association of Chartered Accountants of Nepal (ACAN) as President from year 2013 through 2015 and as member of the Committee on Auditing Standards and Quality Control of South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) from 2016 to 2018.

Mr. Rijal is the Co-Chair of Internal Audit Committee and the Member of the Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development Committee (EEDC) of Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) for the year 2017-2019. He has served NRNA in the past as President of NCC Tanzania (2012-2013), ICC Member (2013-2015) and Member of the Trade and Investment Promotion Nepal Committee (2015-2017). He was also Member of the “FDI Committee” of the Ministry of Industry, Government of Nepal and Member of the Technical Committee formed to implement the Report of High Level Task Force for Revival of Sick Industries, Government of Nepal.

Gopal Prasad Pokharel, Senior Partner

Mr. Pokharel graduated in commerce from Tribhuvan University in 1995. He is a Fellow member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal (ICAN) and The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). He has completed Diploma in International Financial Reporting (Dip IFR) from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) UK. He has also completed Diploma in Information System Audit (DISA) from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). He holds Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Management from IGNOU, India.

Mr. Pokharel has several years’ experience in undertaking audits & consulting assignments of manufacturing, trading, energy, BFI and social sector organizations. He has good experience in Information Systems Audit, Nepalese Taxation, Project feasibility , Due diligence etc. Mr Pokharel also worked as CFO in one of the leading Investment Company in Nepal, investing mainly in FMCG and Telecom Sector. He also worked as Finance Director in the only government owned International Airlines of Nepal. He also served as a Board Director for a number of years in one of the reputed development bank in Nepal.

Mr. Pokharel is the member of Accounting Standards Board, Nepal. He is a past Council Member (2009-2012) of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal (ICAN). He also served the institute as member of various committees such as Executive Committee, Disciplinary Committee, Examination Committee, Ethics Committee, Editorial Committee and CPE Committee from time to time.

Bishnu Prasad Bhandari, Partner

Mr. Bhandari holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce from Delhi University, India. He also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) and Master’s Degree in Economics from Tribhuvan University, Nepal. He is a Fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal (ICAN). He has completed International Taxation course “CCIT” from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). He holds Diploma in International Financial Reporting (Dip IFR) from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) UK.

Mr. Bhandari has more than ten years’ managerial experience in the largest private sector Telecom Company in Nepal owned and managed by Multinational Telecom Operator. Prior to joining the Telecom he worked as audit manager in one of the largest audit firm of Nepal. He has rich experience in IFRS, Local Tax Laws and International Taxation. He also has in-depth knowledge in Financial Planning and Budgeting, Treasury Management, Due Diligence, Project Management and Revenue Assurance.

Mr. Bhandari is the present council member (2018-2020) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal. He is the member of the Examination Committee, Fiscal & Taxation Committee and Committee on Public Finance and NPSAS of the institute. In past, he also served as a member of Committee for implementation of NFRS –Bank and Financial Institutions, Editorial Committee, Monitoring committee and Fiscal and Taxation Committee. He also has served as member of the Executive Committee and Treasurer of The Association of Chartered Accountants of Nepal (ACAN).

Mr. Bhandari has devoted his expertise in preparation of “Technical Guide on Telecommunication Industry” published by ICAN. He is co-author of the book “Customs and Excise: Theory and Practice” and “Value Added Tax: Theory and Practice”. He has published various articles on accounting, taxation, telecommunication, business, economics etc in leading newspapers and Journals. He has provided various trainings on IFRS/NFRS and is one of the key resource person on General Management and Communication Skills (GMCS) Program conducted by ICAN during 2016 and 2017. He has attended various seminars, events and workshops on IFRS, taxation, business, finance, economics and leadership across the globe.

Abhaya Poudel, Partner

Mr. Poudel graduated in Business Studies from Tribhuvan University, Nepal. He is a Fellow member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal (ICAN). He has completed Information System Audit (ISA) and International Taxation course (CCIT) from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). He has also completed Private Equity and Venture Capital course from University Bocconi, Milan, Italy. He is a Certified COBIT 5 Implementer from ISACA.

Mr. Poudel has several years’ experience in undertaking audits & consulting assignments of banking, insurance, investment, manufacturing and social sector organizations. He has strong experience in Information Security Audit, Advising FDI, Private Equity & Venture Capital, Financial Inclusion and mentoring Startups. He also has handful experience on International Taxation and IFRS. In his prior positions, he served as Head of Accounts and Banking Operations of a national level commercial bank and he also worked in one of the largest audit firm in Nepal.

Mr. Poudel served as a member of IT Committee and Career Counseling Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal. Mr. Poudel is founder secretary of Artha Foundation, a Not for Profit organization that offers independent research, education, and service across various areas of financial education, economic citizenship and social entrepreneurship. He is a Founder Treasurer of South Asian Foundation for Academic Research (SAFAR).

Mr. Poudel is a visiting faculty in Entrepreneurship Development in Kings College affiliated to Westcliff University, California.
